The File ribbon includes the save and load options for projects and files as well as the preferences.

To get a quick overview of the 3D Viewer to get started, go to 3DViewerOverview (3DViewerOverview).

To see the mouse buttton options and shortcuts used to navigate the 3D view, go to 3DViewerShortcuts (3DViewerShortcuts).

  • Save Project - Save the current project.

  • Preferences - Change the user preferences.

    • Maximum side length for images can be changed. The default is 2000 pixels. Images larger than the given value will be down sampled to limit memory usage.

When draping images on grids, it is important to know that there also is a maximum side length for grids. Grids larger than 1000 cells will be down sampled. When draping images on grids, the resolution of the image is limited by the resolution of the grid in the area covered by the image. This can cause the image resolution to be down sampled. To get the best possible resolution in the images, it can be relevant to use grids largely limited to the area covered by the image.

    • Image resoltuion for screen capture can be set. The default is 150 dpi.

  • Load File - Browse for a file to load into the current project. The supported files can be found in the dropdown.
For XYZ files a Column Mapper Editor will open that allows the different columns to be mapped to different fields. When working with Aarhus Workbench it will often be easier to use Add Layer or Add GIS Map from the 3D ribbon in Aarhus Workbench.
