New Point Theme

A point theme is a visualization of a geophysical theme, it uses a color scale to show the values of the theme at the model positions.

A point theme node appears as a subordinate to a theme node in the Workspace Manager on the same level as grid nodes and its subordinate image nodes (NewImage). Compared to the grid image visualization, the point theme is only defined in the points on the map, where the underlying geophysical theme is defined.

To create a point theme the user must first select a theme in the Workspace manager and then select Point Theme from the Visualization ribbon. It is possible to create several point themes with different color scales for the same theme.

The themes to be included in the batch job are selected here. Use shift+click to select a range of themes or ctrl+click to select multiple individual themes. It is also possible to Filter on grid name or Select All themes.

In the New Point Theme window there is a path and a preview to the currently selected color scale. It is possible to:

  • Press the Open button to browse for a color scale. This opens the Color Scale Selector (ColorScaleSelector).

  • Press the Edit button to edit a color scale. This opens the Color Scale Wizard (ColorScaleWizard) where existing color scales can be customized or entirely new color scales can be made.

  • Press the Save button to save the selected color scale to a file. By default this will be the Aarhus Workbench color scale format (*.awc), but it is also possible to save the color information to a few other standard formats like

    Geosoft TBL (*.tbl)
    ER Mapper LUT (*.lut)
    ArcGIS CLR (*.clr)

Below the standard color scale options, the user can specify Size (points) and Symbol char to define the size and shape of the symbol to be used for the point theme.
